Training Development Specialist

Designs and develops training for Modular employees and external customers at mine sites that use Modular products. Supports global training efforts by developing certification programs, new product training, and providing remediation.

 

Additional responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and deliver corporate and technical training courses and materials. 

* Conduct a needs analysis to determine the need for training.

* Based on needs analysis, design appropriate instructional objectives and content.

* Establish quantifiable metrics to determine learning outcomes

* Use a training plan template to identify the product/project, the purpose of the training, the audience, the objectives, the content, and the metrics.

* Based on the training plan, develop and deliver the course.

* Properly implement a mechanism for quality reviews. 

* Determine and use various training delivery methods and media: instructor-led (ILT), online (OLT), and blended ILT and OLT.  Based on the delivery method chosen:

* ILT: work with a subject-matter expert (SME) to design a course to be delivered in a classroom setting

* OLT/ILT: blended is a combination of OLT and ILT  

* Learn and use various instructional media and tools for training development and delivery: Adobe Captivate, CC Adobe Suite, video recording and production software, Microsoft Office, graphics, etc. 

* Create storyboards for video recording

* Obtain and edit computer screen

* Create a syllabus for the class: what topics are presented and in what order with estimated time

* Create lesson plans for each topic in the syllabus.

* Develop an instructor guide: includes required material for the course or links to the material, quizzes, and answers

* Create a participant guide: includes required material for the course or links to the material and quizzes

* Create Assessments  

* Develop Exams and Competency Assessments as required by the Training Plan  

 

Requirements:

·         Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, or a related area.

·         Three years instructional design experience

·         Excellent editing, writing and communication skills

Saba or similar learning management system experience
