Scholarship Opportunities from AAUW of Arizona

AAUW of Arizona is offering two scholarship opportunities to help college students pursue their education and gain valuable leadership experience. I write to ask you and your colleagues to encourage students enrolled at Northern Arizona University to apply. Information and application materials for the state academic scholarships and leadership awards are available at www.aauwarizona.org under the heading "What We Do/College & University Connections/Scholarship Opportunities." I have also attached the 2015 application forms. Additional scholarship support may be found by visiting the websites of our local branches listed on the state site, and AAUW national at www.aauw.org . Best wishes for a wonderful spring term! Free PD opportunity for preservice/student teachers

Edcamp is a FREE day of professional development for teachers, specialists, principals, administrators and more. It's not like any other professional development you've experienced before. Edcamp's innovative format allows the knowledge and interests of those in attendance to lead the conversations and learning. When participants arrive to this event, they help create the content for the day. Participants suggest sessions that they would be willing to give their own expertise on, or topics that they'd like to participate in a discussion about. From these suggestions, the topics of the day are decided. There are NO vendors involved, but there are lots of great prizes that will be given away at the end of the day, ranging from conference registrations, to free software, to pro website subscriptions, and more. This event is open to anyone in the education field and topics of discussion and collaboration are wide-ranging. Previous topics have run

Digital learners also could use this book to support their learning by creating digital personal learning environments. Students Ryan Cornelius , Dana Martin and Cathleen McCarthy contributed to PLE & ONLE: A Learner's Companion and Christopher Sheehan , Stephen Saint-Coeur and Christopher Udvare worked on Online Education: The PLE and The ONLE . Both eBooks are free to download. This news is highlighted on Inside NAU, NAU's weekly newsletter.  http://news.nau.edu/spotlight-jan-9-2015/#.VLA-x6ZY9o5
