New Graduate Student Orientation

Tuesday, August 27

Where: du Bois Center Ballroom

Breakfast: 8:00 – 8:30am, Students will be grouped by their academic programs  (you are welcome to stay through the morning welcome, which ends at 8:55 if you wish)

Lunch: 12:00 – 1:00pm, Students will be grouped differently, so it might be a bit more difficult to find your students.

If your role is changing as graduate coordinator or admin support for the department for this coming year, please forward this on to the appropriate person and let me know so we can update our records.

Greetings, I am looking to fill two TA/SI positions and would appreciate it if you could pass this on to anyone who may be interested. TAs do not need to be grad students at NAU. One position involves helping students with a writing intensive course in health sciences. The individual would help students with APA style, grammar and mechanics, and academic writing in general. Students write about a variety of topics ranging from COVID-19 to college student health to healthcare reform. The TA does not need an advanced background in health sciences but must be able to help students with APA style (7th edition), selecting appropriate sources, making solid arguments, etc.  I am also seeking a grader for an introductory course in environmental health. Previous experience with Blackboard and/or grading is helpful. Some course work in nutrition is helpful but not required.
