Originally founded in 1988, Tesseract School has become an extraordinary non-profit, independent private school that spans two campuses and gives more than 400 students from pre-school through 12th Grade the essential skills, knowledge, and perspective to be successful in college and in life.   The opening of the Shea campus in the fall of 2008 and the founding of the Upper School have raised the profile of the School in the community creating more interest in the Valley. The graduation of the School's first senior class in June 2012 accompanied by the first college placement results, the celebration of the School's 25th year and receiving accreditation and membership in the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest have further enhanced the School's reputation

 

Tesseract's technology consists of: apple TVs in most rooms, interactive whiteboards, and document cameras.  The Upper School program has a 1-to-1 laptop and iPad program, the Middle School is in the process of expanding a 1-to-1 iPad program and the Lower School has two mobile carts of laptops as well as eight iPads per grade level.

Purpose:  The purpose of the Instructional Technology Specialist at the Tesseract School is to provide professional development for educators (Early Childhood-12th Grade) in technology integration, provide professional development for staff in computer skills, and work in the classrooms with educators as an example of how technology can be infused into the teaching and learning environment.  Secondary objectives include technology leadership on all levels including: budget, database support, technical support, and infrastructure leadership.

Qualifications:

 

·      BA in Education required

·      Experience in providing professional development for educators required

·      Experience with iPad implementation required

·      Experience with iPad integration required

·      Experience with providing technical support preferred

 

Duties:

 

·      Provide ongoing professional development for educators including: iPads, technology integration, Google Apps, and other classroom technology equipment

·      Provide classroom support for educators in the form of teaching sample lessons or providing educational feedback to educators.

·      Provide training for non-teaching staff in various computer programs

·      Supervise and support the technical support staff

·      Manage the technology budget

·      Lead the technology committee

·      Update, maintain and support the School's technology plan

·      Other duties as required
