Second Life (SL), a 3-D virtual world, has been found beneficial to foreign language education because of its immersive and interactive environments. The presenters will share an on-going study exploring integrating SL into teaching and learning Mandarin Chinese. The presenters will describe the process of the collaborative study involving a teacher training program in Taiwan, an undergraduate degree program in the US, and an information technology institute in Taiwan.
